Design Review and Construction Supervision of Pokhara Regional International Airport Project

Narrative Description of Project: 

The consultancy provided the services on review detailed design as prepared and submitted by China CAMC Engineering Co. Ltd., conducted construction supervision works and assisted to CAAN in land acquisition work including environmental and resettlement process, planning and implementing capacity development activities. The contract is executed under EPC Model.

The project is planned and implemented in accordance with international engineering standards and compliance with ICAO standards (IACO category “4D” requirement). The scope of works for design review and construction supervision are summarized as below:

The major features of the project are as follows:

Runway (Rigid Concrete pavement) : 2500 m x 60 m (including 7.5m width shoulder on either side); Isolated Aircraft Parking Position (IAPP) : 85 m x75 m Rigid Concrete pavement; Link Taxiway : 3 Nos.; Parallel Taxiway : 900m long and 38m width (including 7.5m shoulder on either side); Airport Periphery Road : 3.5m width, 6.8 Km length, Asphalt Bituminous  Pavement; Airport Approach Road : 24m Wide with (4 lanes), 1.2 Km length, Rigid Concrete Pavement; Domestic and International Apron  : 417m x129m; International and Domestic Terminal Building: 14643.76 sq.m and  2 Boarding Bridge fixed end + movable end; Control Tower / Operation Building : 1117.58 sq.m building (CAAN Airport Office + air traffic control building); RFFS Building including fire men's accommodation: CAT VIII including firefighting trucks & ambulance, 1120 Sq.m.; Watch Tower : 126 Sq.m.; Rescue and Fire Fighting Road (RFFR) and security protection; Customs, Cargo Terminal Building : 4528.01 sq. m.; International and Domestic Hangar  : 6,055.95 sq. m.; Fuel Farm Land Development; Car Park Facilities: 8542.00 Sq.m (Rigid Concrete Pavement); Integrated Office Building: 2150.4 Sq.m.; Special Vehicle Garage:  562.02 Sq.m.; Lighting Substation: 397.3 Sq.m.; Central Power Substation: 489.35 Sq.m.; Airport Gate : 132.24 Sq.m.; Water Supply Station: 478.59 Sq.m., Waste Transfer Station: 258.3 Sq.m., Sewage Treatment Station: 114.4 Sq.m.; DVOR/DME Station Equipment Room/ Guard Room: 129.4 Sq.m./ 132.46 Sq.m.; Camp facilities: approx. 1000 Sq.m.; Other Equipment’s And Facilities; Utilities Work: Water supply system development works including deep well 94.00m depth (2 Nos.), water supply station Building, main pipe DN200 – 5500m, Fire hydrant main pipe DN350- 3,000m, Automatic spraying pipe DN150 – 3000m, Over Head stainless steel water tank 36 cum, 2 Nos. Underground RCC water  tank 540 cum and stainless steel living water tank 50 cum. ii) Grouted riprap drain: 8700 m; iii) RCC Trench – 300m; iv) sewerage system development works including HDPE double-wall, corrugated pipe DN300 - 2,500m with STP Tank (100 cum) & 2 Nos. STP Tank: 30 cum. Total Construction Cost of Water Supply and Sanitation Components: USD 10.5 million; v) Solid waste Management Work: platform and necessary container facilities with garbage compactor etc.; vi) Diversion of Irrigation Canal (2mx2m): 1050m and open Chanel: 950m

The all infrastructure shall comply within international standards for ICAO Aerodrome Reference code of “4D”.

Total Project Cost (Approx.): US$ 244,040,450.00 (with 13% VAT as per Contract)
